Poul Winslow learned making pipes some 25 years as an apprentice to Preben Holm, the famous Danish pipemaker who made "Danish Freehands" famous all over the World.
Since 1985, Poul Winslow has made pipes under his own name and he works with 2 assistants from his workshop near Copenhagen where he makes less than 1,000 pipes each year.

One of the characteristics about Winslow's pipes is his use of various decorations and he experiments a lot with new ideas. The grading system is (from the top) Private Collection, grade A, grade B, grade C, grade D, and grade E.
